The winter solstice marks the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year.
The season of winter encourages time for reflection, quiet and rest.
The solstice is an ideal time to:
- Take a break from the busyness and stress of the holidays to connect to the true meaning of the season.
- Reflect on the past year and make space for what you want to create in 2024.
- Slow down and connect through gentle movement, restorative yoga and a guided somatic (body - based) meditation practice.
Preparation:
- Create a nurturing space with candles or soft lighting.
- Invite friends or family to join you virtually or in your home and share the event with those you love.
Props:
- A journal or something to write on
- Blanket
- Pillow
- Yoga strap or strap of any kind
- Eye pillow or scarf
- Folding chair or dining room type chair
