I had been dealing with lower back and hip pain and intermittent hamstring strains for around 10 years throughout my collegiate soccer career and into my late 20s as I continued to exercise and play soccer. I had seen plenty of PTs throughout the years that would provide me with short term fixes for my pain and rehab for my hamstring, but the issues persisted. I thought my playing career was coming to an end until I started to meet with Jill who helped me get to the root cause of my injuries and pain. I was swimming 3+ miles a day for about two years before my shoulders and neck started to lock up. This started to bring down my mileage to the point where I couldn't even finish half a mile. I had tried 2 different PT offices and 2 chiropractors but I wasn't seeing any progress despite a good amount of money and HOURS of work on my end. I decided to give Jill a try despite her being out of network and the difference was immediately noticeable.

- Jill's holistic approach was far beyond all other PTs I've worked with over the years. She found pressure points and tightness in places that nobody had even looked for before. Some didn't seem like they could have anything to do with my neck/shoulders at first.

- She accommodates your lifestyle / activities so that you have exercises and stretches that you can mix in to stuff you're already doing. I'm heading out to do a 500 mile hike and I've got a whole list of things I can do on the trail to stay comfortable and healthy while in the backcountry.

In a nutshell, some of my pec/shoulder/back/and especially neck muscles were too tight to even reach at the beginning of April. Now I have no neck or shoulder pain, probably an extra 45 degrees of rotation in my neck, and way more confidence for my hike than I expected (I didn't even start working with Jill regarding my hike, just my swimming).

Do not hesitate to work with Jill! And do not waste your time looking elsewhere or in-network. Problems only get worse and will end up costing you more in the long run!! I learned that the hard way.

TRANSFORM Physical Therapy & Yoga has been a dream come true for me. A year after having hip replacement surgery, I suddenly developed some significant hip pain. My surgeon confirmed it was a strained IT band and bursitis, a condition he said was quite common and very treatable with PT. I had very intense pain in my shoulder area for months. Along with some great hands-on muscle manipulation, Jill gave me several exercises and stretches, all of which combined to decrease my pain now to 5% of what it was originally. Jill helped me to get rid of the pan in my hip. She found some misalignment in my hips which happened to be a result of a 20 year old injury. Jill is a thoughtful and caring physical therapist who has an amazing talent for looking at a pain point (or two, or three) holistically. We’ve had about 9 sessions together now and have addressed my original reason for coming to see her as well as stumbled across some other issues that are linked to it. I feel more balanced, pain-free, stronger, and have a much greater awareness of/vocabulary for describing what’s going on in my body.

I’m grateful for her knowledge, warmth, and ability to go with the flow! I was originally referred to Jill for physical therapy due to hip and low back pain that would not go away. Jill began with a thorough assessment and pinpointed key areas that were locked up. I started with some easy stretches and Jill taught me how to breathe into the area to immediately release some of the tension and decrease muscle spasms. From there, treatment became very comprehensive. We did stretching, deep breath work, progressive strengthening of appropriate muscles, massage, gentle traction and even meditation to help with overall healing. Jill has a huge toolkit. Each time we met, she reassessed how I was doing and what changes I was experiencing. She listened carefully to what I reported and I, in turn, became better at listening to my own body signals. She helped me learn what my limits were and when to push a little and when to back off. She also tailored many of the PT strategies to my lifestyle by helping me integrate new ways of moving into activities I was already doing. Jill was easy to contact and very responsive when I had questions. As a result of these methods, my pain was reduced, I began to sleep better, I could walk farther, I was able to start playing pickle ball again and I had increased leg strength when lifting weights. This was the best physical therapy experience I have ever had. I have already asked Jill to help me with other muscle and joint issues and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

For context, I’ve participated in Jill’s weekly self-care yoga sessions and seen Jill individually for Physical Therapy—for each of these, I logged in remote, via Zoom.

The yoga self-care sessions were grounded and deeply restorative… she beautifully integrated yoga, self-reflection, fascia release (which is life-changing!), and deep meditative sessions. Jill skillfully adapted the sessions based on the immediate needs of participants. A group with tight shoulders? She’d modify the flow to target these tight spots and leave us all feeling lighter and freer as we signed off. And the ending meditation always left me feeling rested, restored, and ready for my week.

But it was her deep knowledge of body alignment, and her creative adaptations on the mat that convinced me to seek her help in individual PT. I was skeptical we could do this virtually, but she absolutely proved me wrong! She helped address lingering hip mobility and strength imbalances (injury and surgery-related), helped construct a personalized plan to rebuild strength and increase range of motion, crafted a yoga flow that was adapted to my mobility limitations, and provided me a foundational set of exercises to return to if my hips started to tighten. She has a deep knowledge of anatomy and movement, is a calm and attentive listener, and is a clear and thoughtful communicator. I broke my ankle (lateral malleolus) at the fibula while running on a dirt trail. The break had healed, but months of wearing a boot left me with stiffness, soreness, loss of strength, and a limited range of motion. Covid interrupted my physical therapy, so I had no idea how to progress with PT exercises on my own. A trusted yoga teacher recommended that I contact Jill to do PT virtually. After the first session, I knew I was in great hands (remotely). I cannot express how thankful I am for her expertise, support, and positive energy!

My ankle has jumped to a new level of recovery! It is feeling really great. I can easily do the jumping exercises, aerobic step and floor exercises, and take extra-long walks at a brisk pace (hills and all) without discomfort. It's amazing what we accomplished via Zoom! Thank goodness for technology! We are now working on exercises to give me the stability and strength I need to get back to running and hiking on rocky trails.

When I met Jill Getty virtually about six months ago, I was unable to take one step without excruciating pain. An MRI showed a torn meniscus in 3 places. I needed a walker or my husband to get out of bed and I could not lift my leg at all. On a scale of 1-10 I was a 10! Now I am a 2, easily walking up and down stairs, balancing, and doing my exercises without knees clicking. Jill is a gifted teacher and healer. Her top-of-the-line training in physical therapy and yoga is perfectly complemented with her knowledge in nutrition, trauma-healing, gut health, meditation and sports. Since then, I moved out of state. and Jill is still supporting me in my journey of connecting with and healing my body - Via online classes. I’ve been looking for a yoga class that would help me recover from hip replacement surgery. Jill Getty’s classes are perfect because she’s both a qualified yoga instructor and a physical therapist! The small group setting equals constant personal attention, no intimidation, and quiet nurturing. Every class is different but there’s a natural progression. The incremental steps help to gain confidence and increase the success of doing poses properly. The postures incorporate proper breathing, mindful movement and strength and flexibility training. I did get an additional assessment, which I recommend, because I’m able to practice exercises at home that increase my flexibility and help with my hip recovery. I’m feeling stronger and definitely would recommend Jill to others looking for healthy improvement.

I have had 2 total hip replacements. Although the second hip surgery was successful from an orthopedic perspective, I had persistent pain, weakness, and reduced mobility 2 years post surgery.

I have a torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder and have for years and then my left shoulder started to be painful as well. Jill showed me pictures of the shoulder area and arms in a book and then she proceeded to explain exactly what was happening so I could finally, really understand what was going on. I was shy and awkward to start a yoga practice, as I was not only a person who had never done yoga, but also I was a person who had not done any exercise more strenuous than walking. Before I started coming to Yoga with Jill, I never had a regular place to practice where I felt comfortable and had someone to give me pointers.

I’ve been attending yoga once a week for the last year and noticed an incredible difference in my mobility and lack of discomfort. Being a dog groomer, it’s crucial that I do something to counteract the physical strains from work.

I have been suffering from seven different injuries which have been very aggravating, and slow to heal. I have had six personal, and eight group sessions with Jill Getty. Jill has revealed to me that I have other contributing injuries that I was not even aware of, such as an unknown issue with my neck which was causing a lot of my shoulder pain. Jill has gifted me with stretching and exercise techniques which have resulted in some rapid recovery, reduced pain, greater range of motion, and a better night’s sleep. Presently, armed with Jill’s teachings, I am doing a stretching and strengthening program at home on a daily basis with very inexpensive equipment, such as a massage roller and an assortment of different sized balls. These short workouts leave me feeling invigorated, uplifted, and enthused that I will completely recover from my injuries. I do not give out recommendations easily, however, my interactions with Jill Getty have been very uplifting and inspiring, due to her education and experience, her positive, empathetic, and fun personality, her impressive listening skills, and the fact that she introduces different techniques and teachings with each session. Our minds and bodies are so interconnected, I am truly grateful and uplifted in mind, body, and spirit because of my involvement with Transform P.T. & Yoga.

My first session with Jill was completely above and beyond and we went over much more than expected. She customized a specific protocol for me based on my posture, job, and the physical activities I do (climbing). I'm a young, mature, retired woman. Retirement was very hard on me, felt like I needed something more to feel better about myself. I wanted to get into an exercise program to keep my mind and body in shape and something to get me out of bed. I did not want something with a lot of younger people I could not keep up with. I started to look into yoga classes it sounded like the perfect fit for what my needs were. Found Jill Getty on lessons.com. She turned out to be a very gentle, kind soul that could fit my needs. She made me feel so comfortable from the start of our first meeting. I wanted to meet new people, her classes include women and men around my age. The classes are small enough you get a lot of one on one attention. I'm learning how to do things I never thought I would be able to do. We work at our own level of comfort. Jill has a very knowledgeable, and has a kind manner to show you how to do the exercises in order not to strain yourself. After class I feel like I've done something fulfilling for my body and soul. Incredibly energized for the day.

Restored & Resilient Online Retreat June 2020

What an amazing experience!

After a long week I was tired, both physically and emotionally.

The retreat was balanced and deeply restorative. Jill met each of us where we were and brought great intention to the moments. She gave us space to set individual and clear goals, which made our time very meaningful to me. Jill is a true professional, who is knowledgeable, kind, and committed to helping others.
